I do both IDPA, USPSA and Steel Challenge, its great for Carry Optics division. You do need to buy an adapter plate from Springer Precision. I'm also going to use it for shooting Bianchi Cup in the open division. I've got to work up a more accurate load for my Sig P320 legion X5 to use the real accuracy of this red dot sight. The side battery tray securing with two screw is great. My older red dot sights I had to remove the sight to change batteries and re-zero the sight, a small pain, and something I don't like doing during a match. Here you don't. The auto off and on feature GREAT. These are the reasons I'm giving it 5 STARS!!!!
I got this sight because I have had cheaper SIG sights and have always liked them. I wanted to try out a different style. Even though this sight is intended for pistol/shotgun/smg style guns, I mounted this forward above the gas tube on an AK-47. It fit well and has a large enough window to see the dot pretty quick. The only problem I have with this sight, is that it has 1MOA clicks for sighting adjustment. Even if the sight is intended for closer range, why not 1/2moa clicks for the price! It still zeroed well to 200yrds and held. The glass was clear, dot was crisp. It's a good unit, but still, at least 1/2MOA would've been nice.
